Speech-language pathology program pathways

If you are looking for an undergraduate degree to prepare you for a career as a speech-language pathologist, look no further! Concordia's bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders provides a firm foundation of speech, language, hearing, swallowing, and lifespan development in order to fully prepare you to step forward in your calling.

You'll have hands-on experiences with children and adults with communication disorders through community service learning and 25-hours of required clinical observation experiences. 

Our faith-based, liberal arts approach will set you apart in the field as a patient, ethical practitioner, and our undergraduate program will fulfill the prerequisites needed for a speech-language pathology graduate program. Learn more about undergraduate life on-campus.

You've prepared for this. You're ready. Our graduate program in speech-language pathology welcomes you to the next level of critical thinking by preparing you for clinical practice as a competent, caring, and knowledgeable speech-language pathologist. 

This two-year, full-time program grants you access to our state-of-the-art, on-campus clinic in addition to off-site community service, clinical externship, and practicum opportunities. 

You will graduate fully prepared for professional certification and licensure required for clinical SLP practice in the state of Wisconsin.

Have you already earned a bachelor's degree in a field other than communication sciences and disorders? Not to worry! At Concordia, we offer a 1-year, 30-credit leveling program for post-baccalaureate students. In just 10 courses you can earn the required prerequisites in order to enter the graduate SLP program.

Frequently asked questions

No.  Concordia University offers a Leveling Program in Speech-Language Pathology, which is nationally recognized as a means of completing the requisite education to prepare a student for graduate study in SLP. The Leveling Program is intended for students who possess a bachelor’s degree in a major other than Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) who are interested in qualifying for graduate study in Speech-Language Pathology. The CUW Leveling Program requires interested students to complete 30 credit hours (10 courses) in the CSD major which can be acquired in one year of study prior to entering a graduate SLP program.

Our master's program in speech-language pathology uses block tuition, which means your rate remains stable over the course of the two-year program, which includes elective and special topics coursework at no additional cost.
